OUR MISSION

I began my private practice career over 25 years ago solely treating clients in their home. My reasoning was simple. It offered me a window beyond the child's learning differences, it gave my client comfort, and it offered the parent a better understanding of how to use the home as a resource for unlocking language and increasing communication skills. Home was and remains the most naturalistic setting. Thus the name In Home Speech & Language Associates evolved. As my practice grew, I opened an office to accommodate more clients. I could no longer drive as much as I wanted to, but the concept of In Home remained in my heart and soul of the practice. The idea and sentiment are the same. I've tried to create a place that looks like and feels like home when you walk in. More importantly, it is my hope that by choosing to remain a small practice, my clients big and small, young and old, and their parents alike would feel heard, understood and validated in times of feeling overwhelmed by their communication difficulties.

Beyond ameliorating some disorders and improving other communication disorders, it is our goal at In Home Speech and Language Associates to provide clients and parents the every day social life skills and strategies that help them continue on their journey toward success.

An unknown author once said, "The basic building block of good communications is the feeling that every human being is unique and of value." It is our goal to incorporate this belief in every therapy session beyond the hard work that takes place every time our families step inside our front door. Welcome to In Home!
